Dhrupad Vaghani is an Associate Partner in the Banking & Finance and Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) practices of ELP. Dhrupad has over a decade of experience and has handled and worked on several banking & finance transactions , including standardization of documents for various banks and financial institutions, commercial real estate financing, external commercial borrowings, onshore and offshore syndications, consortium financing, title due diligences, structured financing, securitizations, factoring, receivable purchase transactions, trade products, debentures, infrastructure financing, financing of Non-Banking Finance Company’s (NBFC’s) by banks, and providing opinions on new financial products . Dhrupad has deep experience in resolution of stressed and non-performing assets under various schemes of RBI including structuring, conducting legal due diligence and drafting of definitive documents. He has worked on several matters under the new Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code and has represented various stakeholders including Financial Creditors, Operational Creditors, Resolution Applicants and Resolution Professionals. Dhrupad has also advised Committee of Creditors and represented them before NCLT, NCLAT, High Court and Supreme Court. His stressed assets resolution and insolvency experience includes preparation and filing of various applications before NCLT, NCLAT, High Court and Supreme Court, submission of forms & claims before Resolution Professionals, advising and providing legal support & assistance to the Resolution Professionals during the entire Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process/Liquidation Process, conducting legal due diligence and preparing resolution plans for Resolution Applicants. Prior to ELP Dhrupad served with various banks as in-house counsel such as HDFC Bank Limited, Standard Chartered Bank, IndusInd Bank Limited and Deutsche Bank AG. He brings with him a desired blend of experience as an in-house counsel and private practice which helps in solution-oriented approach and providing commercially viable solutions to the clients. Dhrupad holds a B.L.S/LL.B degree from Government Law College, Mumbai.
