Bio

Rebecca Burford is a corporate transactional specialist who advises on acquisitions, company sales, management buy-outs (“MBOs”), management buy-ins, private equity, mergers, seed capital and growth capital investments, joint ventures, reorganisations and restructuring. Rebecca has also acted on a significant number of company sales and acquisitions, as well as acting for private equity houses, management teams on MBOs and high net worth individuals on their investments into private companies. She has worked with clients in a broad range of sectors including technology, digital media and video gaming, manufacturing, insurance and telecommunications. Rebecca is ranked in The Lawyer’s prestigious Hot 100 List. She was ranked as “Next Generation Partner” for Corporate in the South East in the Legal 500 directory in 2019, ranked “Next Generation Lawyer” for Corporate in the South East in the Legal 500 directory in 2017 and 2018, and ranked as “Associate to Watch” in Chambers and Partners directory 2018. Rebecca was shortlisted as Corporate Lawyer of the Year at the South East Insider Deal Maker Awards 2019, and led two private equity transactions (MBO of Trusted Housesitters backed by private equity firm, Rockpool Investments and the MBO of Xstrahl Group backed by private equity firm, Risk Capital), that were both shortlisted for Private Equity Deal of the Year at the South East Insider Deal Maker Awards 2019. She also acted for the management team on the investment by Cow Corner into Person Centred Software which was shortlisted for Private Equity Deal of the Year at the South East Insider Deal Maker Awards 2022. Rebecca is also involved in a number of the Firm’s diversity and inclusion initiatives, including sitting on the Firm’s “Future Firm for Diversity and Inclusion Committee”. She is also appointed to The Law Society’s Ethnic Minority Lawyers Division committee. Rebecca is admitted to practise in England and Wales.
