Bio

Kimberly Corcoran has practiced law in California since 1990, working with a diverse range of clients in several practice areas, including land use, real property and general civil litigation. She has practical business experience from co-owning a small winery for several years, and advises many wineries and businesses on a wide range of topics. Kim’s philosophy is to get the best result for her clients and to do so whenever possible in a respectful and professional manner, recognizing that in the relatively small communities in which we live, an adverse party today may well be the client’s customer tomorrow. Kim represents wineries and other businesses before public agencies on land use issues. She has represented clients before the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors, Planning Commission, Design Review, Landmarks Commission, Board of Zoning Adjustments and the Administrative Hearing process. She has taught legal writing at Sonoma State University and has lectured in their Wine Business MBA program on land use issues. Kim also has extensive experience in civil litigation, representing people and businesses in a wide range of disputes: easements, trade secrets, wine quality disputes, and contract disputes of many kinds. She has substantial experience in resolving cases before trial through law and motion practice, as well as negotiated settlements. She has served as settlement panelist for the Sonoma County Superior Courts and has served as mediator for civil litigation disputes. Kim serves and has served on the boards of several non-profit entities, including the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Legal Aid, and the Sonoma County Law Library. She is currently serving on the Governmental Relations Board for Sonoma County Vintners, helping to develop and implement policy for wineries in the County in a way that serves the needs of all stakeholders.
