Peter Brouns specialises in company law, insolvency law and restructuring. He advises and assists national and international clients in optimising their legal corporate structure, governance and compliance issues. With more than 25 years of experience as a lawyer, Peter acts as a trusted advisor and risk manager for various internationally operating industrial companies. Peter regularly acts as a trustee in larger, complex bankruptcies. His trusteeships include Componenta iron foundries and Favini paper mills. He was also involved in the bankruptcies of roller coaster manufacturer Vekoma, solar panel manufacturer Scheuten Solar, and the Bovema S-Air Group. Peter is a member of the Insolvency & Restructuring team. With the Insolvency & Restructuring team, Peter has been included in Legal500’s EMEA Guide 2020. In 1991, he completed the European Master’s in Law and Economics, an international study programme at the universities of Oxford, Paris, Rotterdam and Ghent in law and economics. During his career, Peter has completed the Grotius specialisation programme in Insolvency Law and the specialisation programme in Financial Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam. He is a member of INSOLAD, the Association of Insolvency Lawyers, and TMA, an international network of turnaround management professionals. Peter has been working as a lawyer at Boels Zanders since 1992. He has been a partner since 2002 and was managing partner from 2008 to 2014.
