Zaichi Hu specializes in foreign direct investment, mergers and acquisitions, financing, energy, mining, and general corporate and commercial matters. Zaichi has over 20 years of legal experience at major international, Canadian and Chinese law firms. He has represented many multinational companies and Chinese enterprises in the above practice areas, leading in various aspects of complicated transactions in and outside China, such as drafting, reviewing and negotiating share or asset purchase and sale agreements, joint venture contracts, shareholders' agreements, articles of association, and loan and security agreements; conducting due diligence review in investment, financing and M&A transactions; advising on the structure of transactions; providing regulatory advice in the energy and mining industries; and advising on corporate governance and compliance issues. Before joining Blakes, Zaichi was a partner for over six years at an international law firm in Beijing. He previously practised at two other reputable firms. Zaichi is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
