Bio

Dan Bruton represents clients in the following practice areas: creditors' rights and bankruptcy, commercial litigation, banking and financial services, and general litigation. Dan has practiced law in Winston-Salem since graduating from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1995. Dan served as a law clerk for the Honorable Catharine R. Aron, United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Middle District of North Carolina, before joining Bell, Davis & Pitt in 1997. Dan’s practice experience encompasses bankruptcy, collections, creditors' rights, and general litigation. He concentrates his practice in the representation of both creditors and debtors in bankruptcy and collections, including, work outs, reorganizations, and liquidations. Dan has an active bankruptcy practice in the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of North Carolina, representing bankruptcy trustees, large and small financial institutions, trade creditors, and individuals. Dan is equally experienced in state court foreclosures, claim and deliveries, collection suits, and other general commercial litigation. Dan is a member of the Panel of Chapter 7 Trustees for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of North Carolina. Dan is active with the local YMCA and often serves as a coach and mentor in little league sports. With his father's career as an Air Force JAG, Dan spent his formative years traveling and living on Air Force bases across the globe. Dan first established roots in North Carolina by attending and graduating from Davidson College in 1991. After graduating from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1995, Dan made Winston-Salem his permanent home.
