Dr. Gregor Hengst is Managing Partner at Waterland in Munich, Germany. Prior to joining Waterland, Gregor was a Vice President at Vestar Capital Partners, a US buyout fund. In that role he worked with management teams to identify and realize growth opportunities. Previously, he was an engagement manager at McKinsey & Company where he led teams in the financial services and consumer products industries. Gregor was involved in new product introductions, international growth strategies and transactions in Europe, South Africa and the Middle East. Before that, Gregor was with international law firm Freshfields, based in Munich and with Commerzbank in Cologne. Gregor earned his doctorate degree in law (summa cum laude) from Cologne University, Germany.
