Nigel Smith Bio

Nigel joined TDR Capital in October 2018. He has 25 years’ experience working in the ESG and corporate responsibility field. In 2009 Nigel founded Corporate Balance, a corporate responsibility and ESG consultancy. Since then he has advised a number of Corporates on sustainability issues across a diverse range of sectors and regions. He has also worked extensively with private equity clients advising on responsible business practices and working with their portfolio companies to integrate ESG practices to both manage risk and deliver on opportunities. Prior to founding Corporate Balance, Nigel was Head of Corporate Responsibility Advisory Services at KPMG and spent five years as Corporate Responsibility Director for the British Retail Consortium. Nigel holds a BSc in Environmental Policy and Geography from University of Gloucestershire and an MSc in Environmental Policy and Management from University of Hull.
