Jennifer Chalmers Balbach Bio

A founding partner of Summer Street, Jennifer is involved in most aspects of the firm’s operations. Her responsibilities include portfolio company development, marketing support, and administrative management. Jennifer has served on the boards of several portfolio companies, including those in manufacturing and services sectors. Prior to Summer Street, Jennifer served as Vice President at Buffalo Ventures, where she placed equity investments in and provided advisory services to numerous small businesses in Western New York. She also served as a management consultant at Bain & Company, Coopers & Lybrand, and American Management Systems, where she advised clients in manufacturing, defense, and services sectors. A graduate of Harvard College, Jennifer also received an MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College. Jennifer serves as a director for several local and regional boards, including the Community Foundation of Greater Buffalo, the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation for New York State, the Harvard Alumni Association of Western New York, and the Lifetime Healthcare Companies, parent of Blue Cross/Blue Shield affiliated health plans of Upstate New York. She also chairs the investment committee for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Buffalo’s pension and investment funds.
