Prior to joining Searchlight in 2010, Mr. Cruz was an associate at Oaktree Capital Management, where he was part of the global principal control investing strategy focused on distressed debt for control and private equity investments. He began his career as an investment banking analyst in the leveraged finance and restructuring advisory group at UBS in San Francisco. Mr. Cruz serves on various portfolio company boards. Mr. Cruz received an HBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
