Phil Jacobson Bio

Phil Jacobson has more than 35 years of experience in financial services and a deep passion for helping wealth management firms build enduring, growth-focused businesses. As Managing Partner of Corporate Development at Rise Growth Partners, he works closely with leaders of exceptional firms, helping them to understand what it takes to become an enterprise. Phil also helps to connect successful wealth management firms with great teams so they can become better together. His career began with a role that enabled him to develop one of the first advisor workstations, which was rolled out across a broker-dealer system of 72 offices. He transitioned to a client-facing advisory role and later served as Head of Office at United Capital for 11 years. In 2016, Phil took on a national leadership position as Head of United Capital’s Growth Optimization Team. In this role, he partnered with advisors across the country, helping them optimize their advisory practices, develop high-performing teams, and implement sustainable growth strategies. Phil was a key leader driving United Capital’s integration into Goldman Sachs following its acquisition in 2019. Today at Rise, Phil is once again doing what he loves most: helping wealth management firms accelerate their growth in thoughtful, strategic ways — building lighthouse brands that will have a lasting impact and serve families for generations. Phil holds a BS from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.
