Kristian Whalen Bio

Kris Whalen joined Platte River Equity as a Managing Director in 2013 and focuses on the Firm’s investments in Agriculture & Chemicals Target Sector. Kris has been a private equity investor in numerous industrial and service-based operating companies for more than 20 years. Prior to joining Platte River Equity, Kris was a Managing Director and Co-Head of Diversified Industries in the New York office of Vestar Capital Partners, a private equity firm that has raised over $7 billion across six funds. Previously, Kris was an analyst with the Mergers & Acquisitions group at Paine Webber. Kris is on the Board of Directors of the ParentChild+, a non-profit organization focused on early childhood literacy. Kris holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.A., with honors, from Brown University.
