Douglas Owen Bio

Doug joined Petra in 2004 and has more than 20 years of private equity experience investing in and advising high growth companies. Doug plays an active role in all aspects of the firm’s investment origination, structuring, diligence, and portfolio monitoring efforts. Doug has been involved in 30 private company investments across three Petra funds. He has served as a director or board observer with Petra portfolio companies Air Serv, BP3 Global, LSO, Midwest Automotive Designs, Mycroft, NuView Systems, PostUp, T2 Systems, United States Appraisals, and Pragmatic Institute. He currently sits on the boards of Shipley Associates, Keystone Foam, Read-a-Thon, Royalty Roofing and Cre8tive. Prior to joining Petra, Doug worked in investment banking with Wachovia Securities in Charlotte, NC. While at Wachovia, Doug worked with middle market companies raising capital from both the public and private markets and advised on merger and acquisition transactions. Doug earned his B.E. in mechanical engineering from Vanderbilt University and an M.B.A. from Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management.
