Mateo joined PAI in 2020 as one of the Founding Partners of the Mid-Market Fund Team. He has been involved in the Angulas Aguinaga investment. He has strong experience in the Spanish and international private equity markets, having previously been with Ventura Equity Partners, where he was a Founding Partner, and spent close to 12 years at Investindustrial, where he was a Senior Principal in the Spanish office and a member of the Investment Committee. He has also worked as an Investment Executive at Corsabe Capital and started his career in investment banking at Citi. Mateo holds an MBA from INSEAD and a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics. He is fluent in English, Spanish and Italian, and conversational in French.
