Alan is Founder and Managing Partner of Orangewood and has extensive investment experience, including a blend of investing and business-building roles within larger organizations. Prior to founding Orangewood in 2015, Alan was a Managing Director and Head of Special Situations at Senator Investment Group (“Senator”). Prior to Senator, Alan was a founding member and former Principal of The Carlyle Group’s (“Carlyle”) distressed and corporate opportunities fund (Carlyle Strategic Partners). Prior to Carlyle, Alan was an investment banking Analyst at Merrill Lynch & Co. Alan has served on several boards of directors (or equivalent) throughout his career including K2 Towers REIT, K2 Towers, Peaceable Street Capital, George Industries, ABTB, Wheels Up, DFI Capital (Engs Commercial Finance), Diversified Machine, Inc., and Permian Holdings, Inc. Alan graduated with a B.S. in Finance and Accounting from Miami University (Ohio); summa cum laude with University Honors and was born and raised in Cleveland, OH.
