Mr. Smolens is a managing director in Oaktree’s Special Situations group. He joined the firm in 2019 from Apollo Global Management, where he was an associate in the Hybrid Value group. Prior thereto, Mr. Smolens was with Citigroup as an analyst in the Financial Institutions group. He began his career with First Reserve Corporation. Mr. Smolens currently serves on the boards of Neovia Logistics and TriMark USA. He received his B.A. in economics from the University of Notre Dame.
