Roel Smeeing Bio

With a Master’s in Accountancy and Control and the training to become a Certified Public Accountant, both obtained at the University of Amsterdam, Roel combines his experience with a strong affinity for entrepreneurship. As a partner at KPMG in the audit practice, Roel specialized in asset management clients, including private equity and venture capital. In 2023, Roel made a deliberate choice to join Nordian, aiming for a role closer to the companies themselves, driven by his ambition to actively contribute to value creation and growth. Outside of work, Roel is a sporty individual who enjoys activities such as padel, hockey, and football. The skills he values in sports – teamwork, strategy, and perseverance – also serve as an important guide in his professional life.
