Andrew Cooper Bio

Andrew Cooper, Managing Director, joined New Mountain in 2019 as an Operating Partner and works closely with several of the portfolio companies. Prior to New Mountain, Mr. Cooper served in various executive roles and was an Operating Partner at Pegasus Capital Advisors for 11 years. Key executive roles included the CEO of Universal Lubricants (a Pegasus portfolio company), leading the transformation and successful exit through improved sales execution, strategic partnerships, and operational/supply chain re-engineering; President of Sequential Brands Group; and Senior Vice President of Priceline.com during the business-building phase. At Pegasus Capital, Mr. Cooper partnered with management teams to lead the value creation activities and exit transactions for several portfolio companies across multiple sectors, including industrial, technology-enabled health care services, manufacturing/distribution, and consumer brands. He spent the early part of his career in the health care sector, including operational and business development roles at Oxford Health Plans and Continental Health Affiliates. Mr. Cooper received a B.A. in Economics and Public Policy from Duke University, and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
