Ben Townsend Bio

Ben rejoined Mountain Capital as a Vice President in 2025, bringing nearly a decade of experience in energy investing and finance. He previously worked at Mountain Capital as an Associate before moving into public equity investing at global platforms Point72 Asset Management and Covalis Capital, where he focused on the energy sector. He also spent time as an energy transition investor at EnCap Investments. Most recently, Ben consulted with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of the Inspector General, advising on capital deployment and investment underwriting for energy transition initiatives. Ben holds an M.S. in Finance and a B.A. in Economics from The University of Texas at Austin.
