John Shoemaker Bio

John is a Partner and oversees all of the firm’s functions. He is a member of the Investment Committee. John has spent most of his career in the middle market private equity field. Prior to joining Milestone as a Partner in 2002, John was a Managing Director of Internet Capital Group where he developed and executed a strategy for building a portfolio of investments in the financial services area and later co-founded Spyglass Partners, a small startup private equity investment firm. He was also previously a Managing Director and the head of the Philadelphia office of Mellon Ventures where he focused on sourcing and executing middle market leveraged buyouts and was Vice President of Corporate Development for RAF Industries, focusing on acquiring middle market manufacturing companies. John was also both a corporate lawyer for Reed Smith Shaw & McClay in Philadelphia and an investment banker for Morgan Stanley in New York. John holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, where he now serves as a trustee, and a J.D. from Boston College Law School.
