The Mexico Private Equity Fund is a private equity firm that provides capital for small to mid-sized companies located in Mexico. The firm targets businesses that manufacture or process products directly for export, and that supply components or services to indirect exporters and other export manufacturers in the country. The Fund typically commits to $500,000 to $2.6 million of capital per transaction, and pursues companies with revenue between $5 million and $50 million. The firm is particularly interested in industries that include plastics, injection molding, electronic components, food processing, packaging, glass products, leather goods, and furniture. Start-up ventures are not pursued unless the sponsor already has established demand and distribution networks outside of Mexico for the products or services to be provided. The Fund does not invest in any companies that produce negative effects on the environment. Geographic emphasis is placed on business opportunities that are located in, or contribute to the development of the Northwestern States of Mexico: Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua, and Sinaloa. The Mexico Private Equity Fund was form in 1997 and is based in Dallas, Texas and Wellesley, Massachusetts.
