Richard Copans Bio

Rich Copans is a Managing Director and Head of the MDP Basic Industries team. Prior to joining MDP, he was with Thomas H. Lee Partners and Morgan Stanley & Co. He currently serves on the Boards of Directors of ALIGN PRECISION, Hobbs & Associates, IPL Plastics, Shaw Development and SIRVA, and formerly served on the Boards of Directors of BWAY Holding Company, Multi Packaging Solutions, Inc., Nordic Packaging and Container International, Inc., Schrader International, Specialty Building Products, and Yankee Candle Company, Inc. Outside MDP, Rich serves as a Board Member at the Museum of Science and Industry, the Goodman Theatre, the Leadership Council of A Better Chicago, Kellogg School of Management Private Equity Advisory Council, and the Duke University Financial Economics Steering Committee.
