Sam has over 13 years of credit experience and was most recently at RGA on the Private Debt & Equity team where he was a Managing Director and member of the Private Debt and Equity Investment Committee. Sam was responsible for originating, evaluating, and structuring direct lending (unitranche, second lien, mezzanine) and equity co-investment opportunities as well as fund investments. Prior to RGA, Sam was a Vice President in the Syndicated & Leveraged Finance group at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey in Atlanta, where he had significant experience structuring and executing a broad range of debt capital markets transactions, including leveraged buyouts and recapitalizations, across a diverse set of industries. While at SunTrust, Sam was responsible for over $10B raised, underwritten, and structured across syndicated loans (bank and Term Loan B) and High Yield Bond mandates. Sam received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Vanderbilt University with minors in English and Financial Economics. He also studied at the London School of Economics in 2008 with a focus on Intermediate Micro- and Macroeconomics.
