Tony Abena Bio

Tony is a leader with significant company leadership experience and a track record of building and scaling information services, tech-enabled services, and SaaS/software companies across many industries, growth stages, and business models. He is an Operating Partner at Lightview Capital and is acting as chairman of MotionPoint, an active portfolio company. Previously, he was Chief Operating Officer of Deloitte Investments, and Managing Director, Deloitte New-venture Accelerator. Previously, Tony was an Operating Partner at Seven Peaks Ventures. Tony was also Chairman and CEO of Insite Software (acquired by Insight Venture Partners). Before this, he was President of Global Legal and SVP of US Law Firms for Thomson Reuters. He was also CTO/COO at techies.com. Prior to that, he served in a variety of roles including President, Gartner Institute and Vice President, Product at Gartner. In addition to his formal roles, Tony has also personally invested and served on the Boards of HR startups ZapInfo (acquired by Indeed.com) and MyAlerts (acquired by ESW Capital), content/commerce analytics startup Docalytics (acquired by Contently), IP/patent analytics startup PatentCore (acquired by Reed Elsevier) and SaaS candidate pool management startup Jobs2Web (acquired by SAP/SuccessFactors).
