John Banks Bio

John Banks is the founder and Managing Partner of JEB Capital Partners ("JEBCP"). Prior to founding JEBCP John was an investment professional at Ninth Street Capital Partners, a middle-market private equity firm. Prior to Ninth Street, John worked as a management consultant for Oliver Wyman specializing in providing leading companies and executives across the country strategic advice and the non-profit Teach for America where he served two years as a corps member working with students on Chicago's South Side. John attended Judson University on a full scholarship for baseball and his team achieved top #25 in the nation honors while John graduated with honors and received a BS in Accounting, Finance, and History. John also attended the University of Oxford, where he played varsity rugby and received an Oxford shield of distinction for being voted "Man of the year" by his teammates, and University of Chicago Booth School of Business where he earned a Master's in Business Administration ("MBA"). John resides in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago where he and his wife, who've been together since they were 15, enjoy spending time with their family, taking bike rides and runs along the lakefront, and supporting philanthropic efforts. John has a particular passion for childhood education and the small-businesses community. John serves on the Advisory Board of the Academy of Urban School Leadership and High Jump
