Cyndi Soter O’Neil Bio

Cyndi discovered her dream job at IMC, where she helps lead ChildTrust Foundation and provides guidance for IMC’s communications and community investment strategy. She brings experience from nearly three decades of work in public education in North Carolina, starting as a high school teacher and later in a range of communications, research and community engagement roles at local and statewide education organizations. Cyndi earned degrees in education (B.A., NC Teaching Fellow) and journalism (M.A., Park Scholar) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a postgraduate diploma from Cardiff University in Wales, where she studied as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar. She’s also learning a lot from parenting two teenagers with much help from her husband, Patrick. She currently serves as co-chair of Invest Early NC, on the boards of the Public School Forum and the Sanderson High School Foundation, and on the EdNC advisory council.
