Edward Tong Bio

Mr. Tong is a Managing Director at HPS Investment Partners. Prior to joining HPS in 2021, Mr. Tong was a Managing Director and the Head of Private Debt Asia at Partners Group, where he was responsible for senior and junior debt investments in sponsor-backed companies across Asia-Pacific. He also served as a member of its Global Direct Debt Investment Committee and led its Singapore operations as Deputy Head. Prior to joining Partners Group in 2013, Mr. Tong worked as a Vice President at ING across their London, Hong Kong and Singapore offices, where he focused on the origination, execution and monitoring of private equity and corporate leveraged loan transactions. Mr. Tong holds a BSc in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics & Political Science.
