He is on the board of directors of Total Performance Data in London and an advisor to Satisfi Labs in New York. He was CEO of Softbank Emerging Markets, a $200 million venture fund, part of the Softbank Capital International family of funds, from 2000 to 2002. From a San Francisco headquarters, he launched and operated four regional offices in Kuala Lumpur, Istanbul, Warsaw and Johannesburg focused on growth opportunity investments. Prior to Softbank, Matt was a strategic advisor to a number of Silicon Valley start-ups aimed at capital formation, business development and alliances. Until 1999, Matt was General Manager of Sony Online Ventures, and Senior Vice President of Sony New Technologies, the strategic development arm of Sony Corporation of America. He started Sony.com by registering the URL in 1994, subsequently building and managing all the US-based operating companies websites, including shopping and film, music and TV promotions. While at Sony, he commissioned ‘Everquest’, the massive multi-player online game played by five million subscribers.
