Holding a master's degree in law and in political science, he started his career with RTL and then Antenne 2. In the late 1980’s, he became diversification director at Strafor-Facom and then, GM of the french division of the investment bank Morgan Grenfell & Co. In 1997, he joined the GrandVision and became the GM. He also holds positions at the board of several companies including Promod, Delsey, Famar, Flamel Technologies and Ingenico. He is also visiting professor at Pekin University.
