Michael McKenzie Bio

Mr. McKenzie is a Managing Director on the Investment Team, bringing over 20 years of communications and technology industry experience, including a decade as a private equity investor. Prior to Grain, Mr. McKenzie served as a senior FCC official, shaping U.S. communications policy. Previously, he held executive roles in corporate strategy and business development at Microsoft. Mr. McKenzie began his career practicing communications and technology law at leading Washington D.C. and Silicon Valley-based law firms, after clerking on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Mr. McKenzie is a member of the Economic Club of Washington, D.C. and the Council on Foreign Relations. Mr. McKenzie holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.A. from the University of Virginia.
