Joaquim joined GED in 2004 and is Managing Partner of the Venture Capital area at GED Capital Development and GED Ventures Portugal. He is also Senior Advisor in Portugal, both in Private Equity and Infrastructure and is also in charge of the GED Sur fund, currently in liquidation. In the 1980s, he was Financial Director of CIB, SA, (Ciments Français). From 1990 to 1996, he was Investment Director of the holding company of the Amorim Group and was subsequently executive director of PME Capital (now Portugal Ventures). He was the operative manager, on the Portuguese side, of the management of the Capital Riesgo Galicia Norte de Portugal Fund (Interreg). He has experience in investment and management of companies in various sectors, with particular expertise in the production of cork, textiles, tyres, fibre optics, pharmaceuticals, education, engineering, IT, banking, factoring and consumer credit. Joaquim holds a Business Administration MBA, a degree in Applied Mathematics, and another in Accounting and Administration from the University of Porto.
