Trevor Johnstone Bio

As a Partner at Founders, Trevor contributes to portfolio company strategy, transaction structuring, participates in investment decision-making, and is a principal investor. Founders is a family firm that combines 30 years’ private equity experience in over 80 companies with deep operating knowledge. The firm invests its partners’ own capital and focuses on applying operating know-how in medium-sized food businesses, with a view to building thriving organizations over the long term. In 1996, Trevor co-founded Tricor Pacific Capital, Inc., a private equity firm investing institutional funds in mid-market companies across North America. He led the firm as a Managing Director for Funds I, II, III and IV, with total committed capital of $1.2 billion. He remains active and continues to be a major shareholder in Fund IV and the successor Fund V. Trevor obtained his M.B.A. degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and is a Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia.
