Thomas Whitener Jr. Bio

Mr. Whitener is a Founding Partner of Energy Spectrum and served as its President from 2006 through 2022. He continues to be active on a daily basis, providing oversight for the management of the firm’s private equity business. Mr. Whitener has approximately 51 years of experience financing and advising companies and managing private equity investments in the energy industry. He previously served as a Managing Director at R. Reid Investments Inc., as a Senior Vice President of Dean Witter Reynolds’ Energy Corporate Finance Group, and as a Senior Vice President of InterFirst Bank Dallas’ Energy Lending Group. Mr. Whitener also served three years as an officer in the U.S. Navy after receiving his BBA and MBA degrees from The University of Texas at Austin.
