Alex Emery Bio

Alex joined Eight Roads from Permira, where he served as Head of Asia. Based in Hong Kong, Alex oversees the firm's investment and operations across our offices in China, Europe, India, and Japan. With over 20 years of investment experience in Asia and Europe, Alex joined Eight Roads from Permira, where he served as Head of Asia and was a member of the Global Executive Committee. During his tenure, he helped establish Permira’s presence in Asia and invested and participated in numerous transactions, including Akindo Sushiro, Arysta LifeScience, Galaxy Entertainment Group, I-MED, Grobest, and Tricor. Alex began his career at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs before joining Braxton Associates. He later spent five years at McKinsey & Company in London. A French national who has lived in Asia for over 30 years, Alex is a fluent Japanese speaker.
