Ethan Walz Bio

Ethan Walz is an experienced business professional with a strong finance and accounting background and substantial experience in operations and general management. He’s created value in both large-scale professional services firms and in small cap startups, leading, scaling and building teams. He finds fulfillment in having an outsized impact on the lives of others and feels that an entrepreneurial path is the best way for him to achieve that goal at this stage in his career. Ethan finds joy in the challenge of creating and building something valuable and has never been shy about facing his fears. Ethan is proud of his upbringing in rural America and the relationships he’s built both personally and professionally in blue- and white- collar environments. This gives him comfort and understanding to operate in a wide array of business settings. Ethan accumulated seven years of professional experience prior to stepping away to business school at the Kellogg School of Management in 2021. He spent four years in big four public accounting at KPMG where he led both small scale and large multinational audit engagements and planted the foundational roots of his strong financial business acumen. After four years at KPMG, Ethan joined an upstart publicly traded farmland REIT in Denver, CO, where he helped improve and professionalize the Company’s finance and accounting systems, processes, and controls, delivering substantial value to the organization. Further, he implemented operational systems and policies to improve cross-functional efficiency and mitigate company risk. Overall, Ethan helped grow and scale a ten-person company into what is now the largest farmland REIT in the United States with upwards of $1 billion of farmland on the balance sheet. Ethan was inspired by his experience and mentorship and knew he was interested in starting or owning his own business. He credits much of his inspiration to his professional role models and personal relationships and knows he would not be at this stage without them. He is overjoyed at the opportunity to launch Continuum Legacy Partners and own and operate a business with his longtime friend, David. Ethan grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska, and is an unmitigated Nebraska Cornhuskers fan. He credits the development of his integrity, work ethic, and perseverance to his upbringing in the Midwest (or the West, depending on who you ask), a strong family values system, and many years of competitive swimming, basketball and golf. Ethan and his wife, Clare, live in Glen Ellyn, IL. When not outside or spending time with family and friends, they can be found enjoying time at home and playing with their Golden Retriever, Nellie. Ethan received his B.S. in Accounting with an emphasis in Finance from Nebraska Wesleyan University, where he was a member of the golf team, and has an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
