Timothy Fording Bio

Mr. Fording is a Managing Director for Cerberus and is a senior team member for Cerberus Business Finance. In his role, he is responsible for the origination, underwriting, and portfolio management for Cerberus’ leading middle-market direct lending platform. He originally joined Cerberus in 1998 and has served the firm and its affiliated entities for more than 20 years. From 2010 to 2013, Mr. Fording helped form CorePointe Capital Finance, an affiliate owned by Chrysler Financial that focused on the capital needs of middle-market companies. As Co-Head of CorePointe, he assisted in completing approximately 55 transactions and rejoined Cerberus after the business was sold. Prior to founding CorePointe, Mr. Fording held various roles at Ableco Finance and Cerberus for 12 years. He also worked at the Austrian bank Creditanstalt and separately, Congress Financial, one of the nation’s premier asset-based lenders. Mr. Fording graduated from Georgetown University and serves on the Board of Directors for Georgetown Club of Fairfield County.
