Peter Sherman Bio

Mr. Sherman joined Capitala in 2018 and is currently serving as chief risk officer. His primary focus is to oversee the assessment and management of risk within the firms's credit and equity portfolios. Additionally, Mr. Sherman serves on the Investment Committee of select strategies on the Capitala platform. Prior to joining the firm full time, Mr. Sherman, through his investment and consulting firm, Sherman Capital Management, served in a regular consultative and advisory role for the investment committee, underwriting and portfolio management teams in 2017. Previously, Mr. Sherman served as a Partner at Brevet Capital Management, a middle market direct lending hedge fund, as well as the head of Capital and Debt Advisory at Ernst & Young. Mr. Sherman spent over 22 years combined at both Bank of America and Prudential, where he held various senior investment and advisory roles. Mr. Sherman received his M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania – The Wharton School. and a B.B.A. from The University of New Orleans.
