Pete Nelson Bio

Pete joined Canopy Capital Partners in 2023 as an operating partner with a primary focus of supporting the management teams of Canopy portfolio investments with evaluating and implementing operational, financial and ERP initiatives to support growth and development strategies. Pete’s career has been centered on serving in entrepreneurial and executive capacities primarily with companies with robust business to business field service models. Pete performed direct CFO roles as the CFO for Expert Traffic Control (flagging and work zone safety contractor), Kablelink (multi-state cable fulfillment contractor) and Peak Performance for Men (private equity backed national men’s medical company). In addition, Pete is a founding partner of Starlink Construction Utilities (underground utilities contractor) and Qypsys (provider of large enterprise fiber-based network design and installation services). Pete graduated with a B.S. in Engineering from Clarkson University in 1995 and earned his MBA from the Warrington School of Business at the University of Florida in 2002. Pete lives in South Tampa with his wife, Rhonda, and three daughters, and is active in his church, Christ the King, and supporting organizations such as Children’s Cancer Center, Wheels of Success, CFO Exchange, and serving on the Advisory Board of the Bank of Central Florida.
