Joost Bakhuizen Bio

Joost started his career at Kempen Corporate Finance where he gained a lot of transaction experience as an advisor in the field of mergers and acquisitions at larger, often listed companies. With this experience he then delved into Strategy & Corporate Development at Van Lanschot Kempen. In 2010 he became responsible for Van Lanschot Participaties, the predecessor of Bolster. Joost is a co-founder of Bolster. “Every day at our office I see the twenty posters on the wall of our holdings. For me, those are twenty stories. We experience all sorts of things with the companies we invest in. Beautiful things, fun things and sometimes difficult things. The collaborations are all valuable, with the shared goal of growing the company and ultimately realizing a good return. It is mainly the collaborations with the people who are dear to me, the management teams and fellow shareholders. These intensive collaborations make it beautiful. The bond with the management teams is close. So close that many entrepreneurs have become investors in Bolster after selling their company. A bond for life. I feel that same closeness within Bolster.
