Zack Smotherman Bio

Zack joined Battery in 2013 and focuses on later-stage, buyout investments in industrial technology and life science tools. Zack is currently involved with a number of Battery’s acquisitive platforms, including AnalytiChem, Axiometrix Solutions, ifp Institut für Produktqualität (ifp), Physical Property Testing (PPT), Process Sensing Technologies (PST), Noise & Vibration Technologies (NVT), Skalar and SPT Life Sciences. Zack has worked on more than 15 add-on acquisitions within this portfolio across the U.S. and Europe. Prior to Battery, Zack was an investor at WestView Capital Partners, where he evaluated and executed middle-market buyout and recapitalization transactions across the tech-enabled services and software sectors. Zack began his career in the investment banking group at Avondale Partners. Zack graduated from Tufts University with a BS in economics. He also holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
