Matthew Segal Bio

Matthew is Managing Director at Banyan where he is responsible for originating, evaluating and executing transactions as well as managing multiple portfolio companies. Prior to joining the firm in 2019, Matthew was a Partner at Hawthorn Equity Partners (formerly Genuity Capital Partners) where he sourced and led transactions, provided support and guidance to portfolio companies and was involved in all aspects of fund management. Prior to that, Matthew was with Teachers’ Private Capital and, earlier in his career, Mercer Management Consulting (now Oliver Wyman). Matthew has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours, Economics) from Queen’s University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
