Mr. Saunders is a Managing Director and Head of Private Equity, having joined in February 2019, and is based in London. Mr. Saunders is also a member of the Investment Committee of Atlas Merchant Capital LLC. Previously, Mr. Saunders was a Senior Managing Director, Private Equity, at Cerberus European Capital Advisors, LLP. Prior to moving to London in 2015, Mr. Saunders spent 11 years based in Tokyo, Japan where he was responsible for managing Cerberus’s investments across Asia and including serving as Representative Director and President of Cerberus Japan K.K. Mr. Saunders joined Cerberus in the New York office in 2003. Prior to joining Cerberus, Mr. Saunders worked in the Investment Banking Division of Salomon Smith Barney from 1995 to 2003. Mr. Saunders is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Kepler Cheuvreux, DPL Financial Partners and MarshBerry. A native of Petrolia, Ontario, Mr. Saunders earned a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) First-class degree from Queen’s University in Canada.
