Toby Smith Bio

Toby was part of the team that founded Arcus in 2009. As General Counsel, Toby has oversight of all legal matters within Arcus and is particularly adept in assisting the team in pursuing and unlocking complex transactions. Prior to joining Arcus, Toby was Head of Legal for Babcock & Brown’s European Infrastructure Team in London. Prior to joining Babcock & Brown, Toby was a Senior Counsel at Amey plc, and before that was an Associate Solicitor at Herbert Smith and, previously at Wragge & Co where he qualified as a Solicitor in 1999. Toby holds a BA (Hons, history and politics) from Keele University (UK). He then undertook a law conversion course and Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Chester (UK). Toby is a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales.
