Art is a Managing Director and the General Counsel at Arcapita. He is responsible for overseeing all legal and compliance matters for the firm. Art has over 24 years of legal and business experience in private equity, venture capital, real estate, complex cross-border transactions, mergers and acquisitions, compliance and Islamic finance. Previously, Art was a Managing Director at Falconvest and General Counsel and Executive Vice President at Gatehouse Bank. Prior to that, Art was a Director at Arcapita Bank B.S.C.(c), a corporate attorney with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in its London and Washington offices and Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault in its Boston office. Art holds a BA in History from Hamilton College and a JD, with distinction, from Emory University School of Law, USA. He is admitted to the bar in Massachusetts and Virginia, USA.
