Sandra Mayr Bio

Sandra Mayr (1983) is Investment Director at the Anders Invest Food & Agri Fund, where she is responsible for the investment in and management of SMEs within the food and agriculture sector. The fund focuses on long-term investments that contribute to fair, healthy and sustainable food production. With 15 years of banking experience, of which 12.5 years at ABN AMRO, Sandra was involved in the reconstruction of the bank after the takeover by a group of banks. She specialized in structured financing, including financing acquisitions in a variety of sectors including the food industry. Later, she became responsible for the operation within the bank's legal department, where she led several strategic projects that resulted in significant cost savings, more efficient work processes and a positive culture change. After ABN AMRO, Sandra worked for 4.5 years as Investment Director at NextGen Ventures, where she focused on impact investment in innovative medical technologies and digital solutions that make a positive contribution to healthcare. She worked closely with founders and investors to take the right strategic steps and achieve growth. In this role, she also held various board positions, including supervisory roles at Plasmacure B.V. and Quli B.V., and advisory roles at Rockstart AgriFood. Sandra obtained cum laude her bachelor’s degrees in Accountancy and International Business at New Mexico State University, funded by a tennis scholarship, and then cum laude her master’s degree in Business Sciences from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
