Suzanne Akers is AIMCo's Chief Risk Officer, responsible for the Investment Risk and Enterprise Risk functions. In her role, Suzanne champions the integration of risk awareness in investment and non-investment decisions and activities, a “speak up culture,” and transparent risk dialogue in service of clients. Prior to joining AIMCo in 2022, she served as Co-Head of Franklin Templeton's Investment Risk Management Group, responsible for Equity, Balanced, and Fixed Income strategies globally. She has extensive experience in a variety of businesses in the asset management industry at both Franklin Templeton and Morgan Stanley. Suzanne holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University, an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business where she was an Arjay Miller scholar, and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a Certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM). Suzanne is a member of the Board of Directors of the AIMCo Foundation for Financial Education and a co-Executive Sponsor of the Black Employees and Allies Network.
