Sechaba Selemela Bio

Sechaba is responsible for origination and execution of infrastructure investments focusing on the IDEAS Fund. Sechaba’s role includes analysing and assessing investment opportunities, structuring of transactions as well as the execution, realisation and performance monitoring of investments across various asset sectors including toll roads, renewable energy, gas, infrastructure and public private partnerships. Sechaba was instrumental in the closing of 7 projects in the Fourth Round of South Africa’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (“REIPPP”), with aggregate commitments in excess of ZAR 2.7 billion. Sechaba represents IDEAS on key strategic boards but his primary focus remains on origination, transaction execution, investment approvals and investor relations. Prior to joining Old Mutual Alternative Investments, Sechaba worked in corporate finance and M&A for Standard Bank and Rothschild South Africa. Sechaba holds a Bachelor of Economic Science degree with Honours and a Masters in Commerce (Economic Science) from the Witwatersrand University.
