Moritz Thompson Bio

Moritz joined AIIM in 2010 and is responsible for originating deals, analyzing, assessing, structuring and negotiating investment opportunities as well as the execution, realisation and performance monitoring of investments within the Pan-African investment team. He furthermore leads portfolio strategy and management across AIIM’s Pan-African funds, where he is responsible for portfolio construction oversight, investment process, asset valuations, and fund performance oversight. Moritz’s experience spans a range of infrastructure sectors, with a particular focus on airports, energy transition and digital infrastructure. Moritz was amongst others involved in AIIM’s investments in REISA Solar PV, Umoya Energy Wind Farm, Kipeto Wind Farm and Sodigaz. He also led the acquisition of a 50% stake in Pan-African airport operator SEGAP and most recently a USD90 million investment in N+ONE Datacentres, Morocco’s leading carrier-neutral data centre company. Moritz is a board member of SEGAP, BBOXX and N+ONE Datacentres.
