Mario Van Rooyen Bio

Mario is responsible for the development and structuring of AIIM’s managed funds, international fundraising activities and strategic initiatives. Mario joined AIIM in 2016 as a Finance Manager where he was primarily responsible for the finance, compliance, and governance operating environment. His role extended to providing technical guidance to the investment professionals from transaction execution to asset management as well as capital raising and fund structuring activities. Mario serves as a director on several AIIM managed General Partner and investment holding entities. Prior to joining AIIM, Mario was a Senior Audit Manager at Baker Tilly Greenwoods where he was exposed to various sectors such as Engineering, Pharmaceuticals, Software Development and Manufacturing. He also completed a secondment in New York in the USA, focussing on Hedge Funds. Mario holds a Post-Graduate Honours Degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Stellenbosch. Mario qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2013.
