Alex Mehfar Bio

Alex is a Partner on AEA’s Middle Market Private Equity team. In his role, he focuses on investment opportunities in the consumer, retail and related services sectors. Alex currently sits on the boards of AmeriVet, BMS Enterprises, Chemical Guys, Jack’s Family Restaurants and ThreeSixty Group. He also served on the boards of former AEA portfolio companies 1-800 Contacts, 24 Hour Fitness and Melissa & Doug. Prior to joining AEA, Alex was a strategy consultant with Bain & Company in San Francisco, advising both private equity and corporate clients. During his time there, he developed various strategies for clients focused primarily in the technology and telecommunication sectors. Prior to Bain, Alex served as a Henry Luce Scholar working as a consultant to Datacom, the first Internet Service Provider in Mongolia. Alex earned a B.A. in economics and a minor in information systems from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he graduated with highest distinction and as a Morehead-Cain Scholar.
